Professional Experience

  • Lawyer, graduated from the Faculty of Law of the Universidad de Costa Rica, with ample experience in Labor, Civil, Commercial, Consumer Law, as well as in Personal Data Privacy, arbitration, litigation and private contracting.
  • She was a professor for the Legal Exercises (Civil Procedure) course at the Law School of the Universidad de Costa Rica (2009), as well as International Private Law at the Universidad Internacional de las Americas (2014).
  • She was a legal advisor for the Minister of Justice (2011-2012) on arbitration, International Private Law, legal certainty and competitiveness. She was also a member of the Inter-Institutional Commission appointed by the Executive Branch for creating a draft for the regulations of the Personal Data Protection Act (2012) and designated by the Ministry of Justice and Peace as a member of the Interagency Commission for the Implementation of the Apostille Convention (2011-2012).
  • During 2009 up to 2011 and from 2012 up to 2016 she was dedicated to the private practice of the profession, in which she provided advice to companies in arbitration and litigation in labor, civil and contractual law. Also, she was responsible for the handling of labor conflicts in both judicial and administrative. And she was responsible for the advice on national companies in labor matters, registration with the Costa Rican Social Security Administration, payrolls’ handling, labor lawsuits, conciliation hearings before the Ministry of Labor procedures before the Costa Rican Social Security Administration.
  • From 2017 to 2024, she worked as Manager in the Legal Department of KPMG Costa Rica, dedicated to the corporate labor and legal advisory service. She provided advice to companies in the areas of labor and corporate law. Also, she participated in numerous due diligence and litigation processes in matters related to labor and contract law. She provided permanent preventive and corrective advice to large companies, including in the medical device, services and manufacturing sectors.
