  • She has an extensive and fruitful career of more than 22 years as a litigation lawyer. During her career, she has successfully represented individuals and important national and international companies in litigation in different jurisdictions. She has achieved economic recovery for multiple victims of fraud and the recognition of real, personal and intellectual property rights for her clients.
  • Throughout her career, she has successfully worked in criminal litigation and as a criminal defense attorney, representing different clients in important and well-publicized cases. For example, she has participated as defense counsel in two criminal proceedings against several defendants, including two former presidents of the Republic and other high-ranking public officials, she represented the captains of our national soccer team in another highly publicized case, and in another criminal proceeding related to the construction of one of Costa Rica’s main highways she successfully defended three former ministers. As a consequence of her experience in this field, she has been recognized since 2017, for several consecutive years, by Best Lawyers, as one of the best lawyers in the area of Criminal Defense.
  • In 2020, Gianna Cersosimo was distinguished as a Rising Star in the area of Dispute Resolution by the prestigious international rater Legal 500 and in 2021 and 2022 -both editions-, she was again distinguished by Legal 500 as Next Generation Partner always in the area of Dispute Resolution.
