Memberships and Professional Experience

  • Expert in Civil Liability and Private Law. Has been a professor at the University of Costa Rica -CR’s main University- for more than 26 years in Contract Law and Private Law. Author of the most important book in CR of Tort Law and other books and articles related to different branches of civil and commercial law. His most recent work is “Principles of Private Law”, for which he has been very acclaimed. This work has four volumes and was presented.
  • Has obtained several overwhelming judicial and arbitration victories, including the first criminal conviction in CR for software piracy victories in civil courts and arbitration, successful anti-counterfeiting campaigns, eradication of fraudulent products distribution nets, fighting unfair competition, pursuing real estate fraud, restitution of diluted corporation.
  • Mr. Torrealba is the president of the prestigious Iberoamerican Associationof Private Law.
